Iowa Republican Party
Ten (10) delegates at large --elected at State Convention – usually but not
mandated by slate. Nominating Committee puts slate before the convention for
approval.
Three (3) Super Delegates --National Committee Man, Committee Woman and State
Chairman
Three (3) district delegates --elected at District Presidential Conventions
(Caucuses)
From each of Iowa’s 5 Congressional Districts
Zero (0) --casting Iowa’s electoral votes for Pres. Bush. Four and one-half (4
˝) delegates at large plus a number of the delegates at large equal to sixty
percent (60%) of the number of electoral votes of that state.
Zero (0) Republican Governor
One (1) Membership in the Republican Party of at least one-half (1/2) of the
Representatives representing a state in the US House of Representatives
(at-large at state convention)
One (1) Republican Majority in Iowa House or Senate (at-large at state
convention)
One (1) Republican Majority in both Iowa chambers
(at-large at state convention)
One (1) Delegate for each Republican Federal Senator (Grassley) (at-large at
state convention)
Alternate Delegates:
Each delegate shall have an alternate except the National Committeeman,
Committeewoman, and State Chairman
