Iowa Christian Alliance
LOBBY TRAINING
The Iowa Christian Alliance is offering a short course on how to lobby your state government to any Christian who has the time and desire to get involved in making Iowa’s laws. If Christians are not involved, then non-Christians and even anti-Christians will make the laws.
“THE LAW IS THE EMBODIMENT OF THE MORAL SENTIMENTS OF THE PEOPLE.” …….. Sir William Blackstone
You have heard the old cliché that “You can’t legislate morality.” Nonsense, that’s what the law is, legislated morality. It’s only a question of whose morality will be legislated.
If you are interested in getting this training, which we guarantee will make you a more productive and effective citizen, than you need to sign up. Your being involved as a citizen lobbyist will get results and you will have fun besides.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PARTICIPATING
When: Training sessions will be held every Monday beginning on February 6, 2006. The class will begin at 10:00 am and end at 2:00 pm. (Trainees can stay longer at heir option.)
Where: The four- hour class will take place at the State Capitol Building.
How: Two hours will be spent discussing what you need to know about the system and the last two hours will be devoted to “working the system.”
Much of the reading material we will provide each trainee prior to the class is available from the legislature through the legislative information office. The more of it you read before you come to the Capitol, the more you will get out of the training session.
To sign up for a class or to get more information, call Iowa Christian Alliance Lobbyist, Norm Pawlewski at 515-287-1291.
The Bible tells us we are the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world.” Salt preserves; light attracts and illuminates. We need to be both for the state of Iowa.
