Former Gov. Terry Branstad will join five of his Republican rivals for the party’s gubernatorial nomination Nov. 7 at a fundraiser in Des Moines, making his first joint-candidate appearance since tentatively joining the campaign last week.

Branstad will join state Sen. Jerry Behn, businessman Christian Fong, state Rep. Chris Rants, state Rep. Rod Roberts, and businessman Bob Vander Plaats at the event. Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, a potential candidate for president in 2012, will also be speaking, and C-SPAN will be taping for later broadcast nationally.

The event will be held at the Elwell Family Center on the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
