Dear Ms. Mizrahi,
I want to complement you and all who are working with The Israel Project to promote peace not only for Israel but for all in the world who truly want to live in peace.
Please add my name in support of the petition to the United Nations.
I am sorry that I cannot be in New York for this very important day for the world.
I am amazed with all the rhetoric that abounds from so many candidates for elected office and so many of our elected U.S. officials for economic sanctions against Iran that there is still continued funding of projects in Iran by the World Bank! I am equally dismayed that the United States does not unilaterally pull the financial plug and end the charade of diplomacy. These combined world actions of meaningless diplomacy are like a parent arguing with a child. You don’t argue!
I believe what was missed several years ago in Palestine after the democratic elections was the question to Hezbollah, “Will you use your recent election over the corrupt regime of Yassar Arafat to work for peace?”
A similar question needs to be posed to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, “Mr. President, are your continued statements asserting that Israel should be wiped off the map, a declaration of War?”
Only two follow-up questions are necessary. 1. If not, will you cease and desist from making these hostile remarks? 2. If not, why not?
It is important to a certain point in time to provide a world forum for people to speak on any topic and the U.N. by consensus is that location, not Columbia University, not the National Press Club. I believe based on his continued vituperative comments the rest of the world needs to act accordingly with the peaceful side of Iran and remove him as a threat.
The conclusion to war is always a unilateral military decision. All parties understand what the terms and conditions are. That is why the end of WW II still remains an important milestone in world history. For some countries, the conclusion of WWII brought peace and prosperity and it abounded. Peace, prosperity and democracy are again under vicious world wide attack! Unfortunately the lessons learned and the peace secured since then have been squandered by appeasement leadership across the globe, fueled by corruption of sovereign leaders in too many countries by commerce in guns, diamonds, gold, oil and narcotics and aided by international banking greed.
I understand the significance to the petition to the United Nations and I reiterate my support of this important document.
I also understand the significance with the lack of leadership at the United Nations by the Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and the new President of the 62nd General Assembly, H. E. Dr. Srgjan Kerim. Global warming is a convenient diversion to achieving world wide peace and eliminating human suffering.
In closing, as an individual, as a Presidential candidate and if as a successful candidate, I stand tall with Israel.
Any President should reply when asked for any aid from Israel with only three questions: What aid do you need? When do you need it? Where do you want it delivered?
Respectfully,
James C. Mitchell, Jr.
