2008 Spring Kick-Off Event Featuring Ken Blackwell  

 

 

 

On Tuesday, March 11, 2008, Iowa Christian Alliance welcomes J. Kenneth Blackwell to Iowa as the keynote speaker of its annual Spring Legislative Kickoff reception.  The event is held every year to welcome pro-life and pro-family legislators and to motivate activists to involvement in the legislative process.

 

This year's event will be held at Point of Grace Church, located at 305 N.E. Dartmoor Drive, Waukee, Iowa, from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M.  Several hundred supporters are expected to attend the event.

Ken Blackwell is the Senior Fellow for Family Empowerment at the Family Research Council, the Ronald Reagan Distinguished Fellow for Public Policy at the Buckeye Institute in Columbus, Ohio and a fellow at the American Civil Rights Union.  He serves on the Board of Directors of the Club for Growth, National Taxpayers Union and Pastors Retreat Network.  Mr. Blackwell is also the Chairman for the Coalition for a Conservative Majority, and a member of the National Rifle Association's Public Affairs Committee.  He is a columnist for the New York Sun, a contributing editor and columnist for the conservative news and opinion site Townhall.com, and a public affairs commentator for the Salem Radio Network.

He has a distinguished and impressive record of achievement as a finance executive, entrepreneur, diplomat, educator and independent corporate director.  He is one of the nation’s leading conservative voices and a strong advocate free market enterprise.
