Hosts Former Gov. Mitt Romney
At Council Bluffs House Party
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, DES MOINES, IOWA, June 28, 2007 – Iowa Christian Alliance, formerly known as Christian Coalition of Iowa, is pleased to host former Massachusetts governor and 2008 presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, at its Council Bluffs house party on Monday, July 2 from 6:30-8:00 P.M.
The event, which will take place at the home of hosts David and Jody Edwards, will provide Western Iowa activists an opportunity to meet Gov. Romney and become familiar with his policy positions. “We are thrilled that Governor Romney has accepted our invitation to introduce himself to ICA supporters and discuss the important issues facing our nation,” stated Steve Scheffler, ICA’s president.
The Council Bluffs house party marks the second event ICA has facilitated with a 2008 presidential candidate. “ICA does not endorse any candidates. However, we do feel strongly about providing a forum for our activists to get to know the candidates and ask them the tough questions. We have contacted each of the 2008 presidential candidates to appear at one of the many house parties we will be sponsoring in the coming months. I only hope that each accepts our invitation,” Scheffler said.
“As we look forward to the Iowa Caucuses, we want to make sure that all of our supporters are well informed on each candidate’s position on issues important to Iowa voters. Each of these house parties plays an important role in that educational process,” continued Scheffler.
