Hosts Congressman Duncan Hunter
At Sioux City House Party
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, DES MOINES, IOWA, July 16 2007 – Iowa Christian Alliance, formerly known as Christian Coalition of Iowa, is pleased to host California Congressman and 2008 presidential candidate, Duncan Hunter, at its Sioux City house party on Saturday, July 21 from 7:00-9:00 P.M.
The event, which will take place at the home of hosts Steve and Kim Carlson, will provide Northwest Iowa activists an opportunity to meet Rep. Hunter and become familiar with his policy positions. “We are thrilled that Rep. Hunter has accepted our invitation to introduce himself to ICA supporters and let us know where he stands on the issues that face our nation,” stated Steve Scheffler, ICA’s president.
The Sioux City house party marks the fourth event ICA has facilitated with a 2008 presidential candidate. “ICA does not endorse any candidates. However, we do feel strongly about providing a forum for our activists to get to know the candidates and ask them the tough questions. We have contacted each of the 2008 presidential candidates to appear at one of the many house parties we will be sponsoring in the coming months. I only hope that each accepts our invitation,” Scheffler said.
“As we look forward to the Iowa Caucuses, we want to make sure that all of our supporters are well informed on each candidate’s position on issues important to Iowa voters. Each of these house parties plays an important role in that educational process,” continued Scheffler.
RSVP and exact event location information may be obtained by contacting Iowa Christian Alliance at (515) 971-7363 or by logging on to the website at www.iowachristian.com.
