Hosts Seventh Annual
Friends of the Family Awards Banquet
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, DES MOINES, IOWA, September 24, 2007— Iowa Christian Alliance is pleased to host its seventh annual Friends of the Family Awards Banquet on Saturday, September 29 at the Seven Flags Events Center in Clive. The event will begin at 5:00 P.M with dinner and will feature special speaker David Barton and Master of Ceremonies, Kayne Robinson. Pre-dinner receptions will be hosted by presidential campaigns at 4:00 P.M at the Events Center.
“Our Friends of the Family Banquet has become a much anticipated event which draws nearly 1,000 pro-family activists each year,” ICA president Steve Scheffler stated. “We are excited for this year’s event and especially thrilled that David Barton is able to join us. We will no doubt come away with renewed energy and inspiration for the work that lies ahead of us as we continue to champion pro-life, pro-family values.”
David Barton is a renown author and historian and is the founder and president of WallBuilders, a national pro-family organization which seeks to energize the grassroots today to rebuild that which makes America strong—its constitutional, moral, and religious foundations. He speaks to hundreds of groups and appears on numerous television and radio programs to communicate the truth regarding our country's religious roots and the role individuals can play in reclaiming our spiritual heritage.
The program will also include a special tribute to Nancy Streck and recognition of this year’s “Friend of the Family” award recipients.
