Meet Norm Pawlewski

The Christian Coalition of Iowa board of directors has approved a 2005-2006 plan that will help strengthen the foundation that was built in 2004. We must never forget that the Far Left is not dejected and will only redouble their efforts to impose their anti-family agenda on Iowa. Christian Coalition of Iowa will hire two additional staff people in 2005 to help us continue to grow and have a larger impact in promoting Christian values in Iowa politics.

We have hired Norm Pawlewski as our full-time state legislative lobbyist. Norm comes to us with prior lobbying experience and a strong commitment to the pro-family agenda. Having a lobbyist will enable CCI to keep you informed on a timely basis on the legislative issues at the State Capitol. It will also allow us to maximize our ability to lobby state legislators on those issues that have an impact on the family. The state Marriage Amendment is one of those key issues that we will be pushing for in 2005. You may contact Norm at rmpaw@msn.com.

We cannot be assured that the next presidential candidate will make the conservative church base a part of their coalition effort. There is no doubt that President Bush’s coalition effort worked. Twenty-four percent of all voters were self identified evangelical Christians and pro life Catholics. Seventy-eight percent of these people voted for President Bush. There were 1.5 million Iowans that voted. Twenty-four percent of that total would be 360,000 voters, and seventy-eight percent of that number would be just under 300,000 Christian conservatives that voted for Bush in the state. That constituency made a huge difference in putting the President over the top in Iowa. There is only one organization in Iowa that ensures these people are educated, motivated, and prepared for election duty in the years to come – The Christian Coalition of Iowa.

We are very excited about the addition of Norm to our team. You can meet him at our upcoming events!
